With Covid, working from home has become ubiquitous, some of us even work from home since the beginning of the crisis and have never been back to the office since! It's hard not to fall into a bad routine at home, and burnouts are more and more frequent.
That's why today we decided to give you some tips to not fall into a routine at work and feel better, hoping it may help you :)
To stay organised, we advise you to make plans of your day, adding an outdoor activity each day and special activities like painting with your kids or taking a sports class via Youtube or a mobile app. The main idea is to add creative activities after a hard day’s work so you spend less time on your screens. Try to engage in different activities every week or even every day! Indeed, if you regularly change some of your work activities, you won't feel any routine.
It's important that your office is well organised and that you feel comfortable in it.
It is essential that your work environment reflects the work you have to do. Think about “spicing it up” if possible, of course, to avoid falling into a routine. On a more physical health note, your work chair has to be really comfortable, it may seem unnecessary at first, but it is on this same chair that you will be spending most of your days. So to avoid back pain and physical fatigue, it needs to be comfortable, so pick your chair wisely. A clean environment is also advisable, it will help you to see your ideas and take decisions more clearly. Cleaning your workspace with ecological and healthy products will help keep you healthy and offer a longer life to your office.
It may seem unimportant but plants help us breathe easier and purify the air. In addition, some plants have relaxing properties and reduce anxiety and stress. You are already a winner If you already use our products made with Lavender essential oils, because it helps reduce stress. The scent of lavender helps to balance the nervous system and is soothing. Other plants, such as lemon balm, hawthorn and passion flower have scents that help reduce stress as well.
Plan walks every day.
A 10 minute walk is enough, it doesn't take long to get some fresh air and stretch your legs after a long day of sitting around (even on the most comfortable chair). Plan walks in different places and neighbourhoods, this will allow you to discover new places and get to know your neighbourhood better.
It is important to have a good relationship with your colleagues. ry to have a more direct relationship with them. First of all, it would be a great change for you because you will learn more about them and it will be great for work because you will feel more comfortable and connected at work.
You can offer them Zoom drinks after work (try not to do so during ;P) or take them for a walk outside and why not do some sports activities. You will feel better at work if you have a good relationship with your colleagues, you can even confide in them if you ever feel less motivated at work.
Negative situations are sometimes encountered at work and to avoid stress you need to make an effort and avoid gossip, negative conversations and avoid unhealthy relationships at work. This will help you feel much at ease in your work. If you see a conversation starting to turn negative and vicious, try to tune the conversation back to something positive. At work, you need to think positive and feel as motivated as possible so that you don't fall into a negative state of mind that will eventually lead to an unfortunate burnout.
We often forget that breaks at work are essential, even if we are overwhelmed with work and have "no time to take a break". We advise you to take breaks very regularly. We are talking about breaks where you log off from your work and from all the screens! Many of us spend our breaks on our phones, or on social networks. Unfortunately, this will not satisfy you, you will not feel like a real break. We advise you to get some fresh air to come back with clearer ideas. You can also meditate or do some yoga or stretching exercises. You will come back to work more energised than ever!
There are many other ways to feel better at work and avoid routine, stress and negative situations. The key is to put things in perspective and to self-motivate, to know where you are going and what your goals are. We hope that you will feel a little better at work thanks to our advice.
